Houseboat at Gas Quay, Colchester
This converted barge now serves as a houseboat, at The Hythe. The area around the River Colne is slowly being regenerated.

Bridge at Hythe Quay
This new bridge has been installed to provide access across the River Colne to flats which have been built on the opposite bank of the river. The bridge is for pedestrians.

River Colne at Hythe Quay
New apartments are being completed on the east bank of the river. The river here is tidal, but the tide is low. This exposes the mudflats.

Roundabout with column, The Hythe, Colchester
At the town end of the Colne Causeway bridge, and therefore the road and roundabout are of no great age. Whether the column is also new or a rebuild of something old here I don't know. There is a similar column, but in red brick, on the roundabout on the other side of the Colne.
