Comparing this photograph with Stacey's Image] from a virtually identical viewpoint in May 2012, it is evident that the distant footbridge visible in the 2012 image has been demolished and replaced by the new one behind the overhead electric line gantry here. In addition the view from the old footbridge in Nigel's Image] from April 2013 cannot now be repeated.

Opened in 1866 by the Tendring Hundred Railway on the line from Colchester to Walton-on-the-Naze. View east towards Thorpe-le-Soken. In definite need of some TLC.

Weeley railway station was opened in 1866 on the Great Eastern Railway's line from Colchester to Walton-on-the-Naze. This is the original station building, which has not been in use for many years.
