Hoarding in Market Street
Personal reminiscences of old Harwich enliven what would otherwise be a featureless blue wall.

Ruins of 20 and 20b Market Street, Harwich
After a fire in April 2012 the building was left derelict for a year, when the local authority ordered that the structure be made safe and the blue hoarding put round it. This seems to have been done, using minimum effort on the making safe bit apparently. Full planning permission for full demolition and replacement with a new building was granted in 2015, with the requirement that work be started within three years. There is no sign of a start being made, some months after the three years expired. A bit of a disgrace.
