Wixoe: The Gate Lodge and a former railway bridge
The Gate Lodge to Floriston Hall dates from the early 19th century, has pointed Gothick windows and is Grade II listed. There is a glimpse of the 19th-century Hall, also Grade II listed, through the railway arch. The bridge carried the Cambridge-Colchester Stour Valley Line until the Shelford to Sudbury section closed in 1967.

Under the railway arch to Floriston Hall, Wixoe
When the railway was built it cut across the entrance driveway to Floriston Hall. Now the railway had been dismantled the arch remains as an architectural feature, good or bad.

Old School at Wixoe, Suffolk
In the small village of Wixoe, near the Suffolk/Essex border, stands an old school that is now converted into a house. It was probably Victorian and the building in this picture says girls above one door and boys above the other.
