Buzzards Hall, Friars Street, CO10
This 16th C building is Grade II listed "An interesting late C16 building (said to be earlier) with good detail though with considerable exterior and interior alterations. Roof may have been heightened in C18 or later. 2 storey timber-framed with plastered panels, roofs tiled, the upper storey projects on the front. It has curious and unusual supporting brackets the carved ornament is under-cut and hangs clear of the back part of the bracket. There is a very large rectangular chimney stack at the South end of the house, and the ground floor room (now shop) has a very large open fireplace with heavy beam. There is a fine old staircase, and said to be a wood ribbed ceiling and original bay windows in the back wing of the house" https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1037492 .
