Goldhanger church: bell-openings in the tower
Perpendicular in style.
It is clear that some restoration has taken place: the hood-mould is badly weathered, whereas the carving of the central upright looks quite crisp. But what about the cusped heads?

Viewed from the churchyard through blossom decorated branches, this thousand year old church looks very fine in the welcome spring sunshine, after the wettest start to the year ever recorded.

St. Peter's church, Goldhanger
This is an 11th century church of pudding stone and flint construction, the walls of which contain some re-used Roman stones. Having become dilapidated, the church was passed into the hands of the Leigh family in 1836. They rebuilt the South aisle and chancel arch, installed stained glass windows and generally restored the building to the fine condition we see today.
