Silver End Village Hall
This 'village' hall was built as part of the Silver End Private Development c1927. It has the distinction of being one of the largest village halls in England.

This house was built c1927 for Francis Henry Crittal, the founder of the Crittal Window Factory. Several of the roads in Silver End are named for the directors of the Crittal Company e.g. Valentine Way, Temple Lane, Runnacles Street.

Houses on Temple Lane, Silver End
Built for the workforce of Crittalls, as were most of the contemporary houses in the village here. Crittalls closed down here in 2006. These houses face the boarded up factory site on the left.

Silver End House
These houses were built in 'International Style' A modernistic design (for the time) which was only tried in a few places in England. The flat roofs proved a perennial problem with water ingress.
