Grey Wagtail
This is a Grey wagtail (identified by the grey band above the eye). My 40 year old AA book of Birds says they are “seldom far from a weir or some other tumbling water”. This one was sitting on the fence of Image the sound of rushing water was all around.

Crop and Concrete
This pillbox is one of a number in the area clearly an intensely protected part of the stop-line. The picture doesn’t really convey how intense the yellow of the oilseed rape appeared in reality!
