The Street, Pleshey (1)
The Essex Way long distance footpath adopts the main street through Pleshey, a rather attractive village of the chocolate box variety. The whole village is enclosed by an ancient earthwork fanning out from a prominent motte and bailey located on the south side, which once supported an important castle in medieval times.
