That's not the way out!
The Chelmer Village development is a maze of small streets, and having got into it, it is a slight worry getting out again. This blocked connection between the residential and commercial areas is clearly not the way to go!

In Chelmer Village
This was a green field development that boosted Chelmsford's population considerably. The architectural fad at the time, which still persists, was to pretend to be of an earlier era.

A development built by Bryant Homes. These homes had only just been completed when the photo was taken - the final surface is still to be laid on the road.

'Village square' at Bryant Link, Chancellor Park, Chelmsford
These properties had only just been completed when the photo was taken, and final landscaping had still to be put in place. Comparison between this photo and 2010 Google streetview shows that the tubs of plants have since been replaced by three trees, and the painted lines delineating the parking bays have been removed to be replaced by a row of bollards.

The Pillbox Play Area
The pillbox appears to be long gone, however the stop line is commemorated by the name of this playground for the eights and under.
