Peers Square, Chancellor Park, Chelmsford
This phase of the development was called 'Bishops Mead' by the developers Bryant Homes and Taywood Homes, and won a 'Project Award' in the national Housing Design Awards 2000. It also won a mention in the 2002 Awards after it had been built. Quote from those awards: 'One of the first fruits of the new planning policies set out in Planning Policy Guidance 3, with a close-knit layout, a density of 33 dwellings per hectare, intelligent handling of car parking, and a very definite sense of place.'
