Timber framed house, Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex
This fine timber framed house situated on Lower Street has the front elevation covered in the East Anglian style of decorated plaster work known as pargetting. It began in the 16th Century. The designs became more and more elaborate and eventually fell from fashion, but had a revival in the 19th C.
