The Water Gardens
The technical college was right next to the water gardens in 1971. From what I can see on the current aerial photos, the college has been demolished but the water gardens remain. They were part of the original design for the town centre and featured artwork by several well-known names.

The Water Gardens, Harlow
The Town Hall, designed by Frederick Gibberd and opened in 1960, has been demolished and replaced by this building. The Water Gardens in front, built between 1958 and 1963 – a centrepiece of the landscape architecture Gibberd thought necessary to the beauty and culture of the town – have been drastically truncated (despite a Grade II* listing). Completed in November 2004 The Water Gardens comprises 300,000 sq ft of retail space and a 70,000 sq ft new town hall. Designed by Benoy Architects, the development was completed in partnership with Harlow Council and English Partnerships. The scheme provided a retail extension to the centre of Harlow, new civic offices for Harlow District Council and the relocation of the existing water gardens.
