Pond on Bell Common, Epping
Bell Common provides an important transition in the landscape between Epping Forest and the built-up area which forms the outskirts of Epping. The area was once known as "Beacon Common". It was deemed sufficiently important for the M25 to be put under Bell Common via a 470 metre long tunnel. Old Milestone by the B1393, High Road, Bell Common
Carved stone post by the B1393, in parish of EPPING (EPPING FOREST District), High Road, opposite junction with Bury Lane (B182), on verge, on South side of road. Erected by the Woodford & Harlow turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : (EPPING) / 7 : : LONDON / 15 : Milestone Society National ID: EX_WFHW15.
