Burnham-on-Crouch: High Street shopfronts
These two shops, either side of the narrow turning of Providence, have both changed function since the buildings were built, judging by the inscriptions on the first floor. The travel agency on the left has 'CROUCH BAKERY' written between the upper windows, while the One Stop convenience store has an inscription which reads 'STANDARD TEA WAREHOUSE' (see Image). I believe that the convenience store was probably once the town's post office but, like the pharmacy and library, that is now in Station Road, to the west and north of here.
