Southern lych gate to Whitford church
This is the main entrance to the church. It has an upper room formerly used for meetings which is accessible by a flight of stone steps on the west side. The plaque below the window refers to Hugh Edwards of Mertyn (d.1624), who bequeathed money towards the building of the 'porch'.

Signpost on the Pennant Walk
The walk around the Whitford area is named after Thomas Pennant, an 18th century zoologist and travel writer who was born in this area. He published a book called "Tour in Wales" which made North Wales a popular with wealthy young Englishmen.
