Colomendy Outdoor Pursuits Centre
Colomendy centre, near Loggerheads, was a war-time evacuation camp which was bought by Liverpool Council in 1957 as a countryside centre for Liverpool children. In recent years, it has been losing £1m a year, and is now being re-developed and updated so that it becomes a premier centre for outdoor activities.

Gate and new Footpath
A new footpath linking the bridleway and Clwydian Way, which are closer together than the map suggests since the diversion of the Clwydian Way. The footpath simply heads east across 1 field and then joins the Clwydian Way.

Clwydian Way near Colomendy
The Clwydian Way has been rerouted slightly near Colomendy, probably due to the construction of a Go-Ape style woodland activity complex. The path goes to the north of the dormitory buildings (marked as going to south on map) and then comes across a field before entering Coed y Fedw wood further west than marked on the map.

Close-up of Outdoor Education Centre accommodation blocks
Like an eco-friendly county hall or a number of office units on a business park the blocks contain bunk beds and mattresses as far as I could see.

Accommodation buildings at an Outdoor Education Centre near Loggerheads
Interesting buildings, seemingly for student accommodation. Nice design and architecture. Looks like it should be gracing a high street office site rather than be tucked away in the countryside.
