Bench mark on Broughton Brook Bridge
This bench mark is on the roadside wall above, and on the north west side of, Broughton Brook. A first Geodetic Levelling bench mark from 1851-52 is recorded close to this position, but on the south east side of the brook. Also the recorded height is different by about 0.5 metres so, if it is the same mark, I think the road has been raised and the wall has been rebuilt.
