Pawn finial - 1 arm; Wirral Footpath post by the A540, in parish of Hoylake (Wirral District), East side of Meols Drive, indicating an alley/footpath through to Hoylake Municipal Golf Course. No maker is visible, but it is in the style of the founders, Smiths of Whitchurch. The column bears the inscription: "ERECTED BY THE WIRRAL FOOTPATHS ETC. Royal Liverpool Golf Club
The impressive clubhouse. Built in 1869, on what was then the racecourse of the Liverpool Hunt Club, Hoylake golflinks is the oldest of all the English seaside courses with the exception of Westward Ho! in Devon. Robert Chambers and George Morris were commissioned to lay out the original Hoylake course, which was extended to 18 holes in 1871. It will host the Walker Cup in 2019,
