Lorry Park, Chester Services
Chester services is the only proper motorway service area on the M56 motorway (https://motorwayservicesonline.co.uk/Chester Motorway Services Online). Located around 8 miles from Chester, the services are accessed from Junction 14 of the M56 (https://www.roadchef.com/motorway-service-area-chester Roadchef); they are also accessible from the A5117 which intersects at the same junction. Until 1998, the site was just a rest or picnic area owned by the Department for Transport. The 'picnic' area lacked facilities (consisting of just a car park). It has since been redeveloped into the Roadchef service area it is today.

Mind Your Head!
This old stone arched bridge is the new access to the site which was Ince B power station. That was demolished to make way for a new development for glass production. The bridge was so low that large lorries could not pass, so the surface had to be lowered by several feet, and the foundations of the bridge re-inforced.Adjacent to Ince and Elton Station, at the intersection of Ash Lane and Hapsford Lane
