Watergate Row through Booth Mansion
This magnificent building was converted from two medieval buildings by George Booth at the beginning of the Georgian period around 1700. He changed the layout, and enclosed the whole in brickwork, creating a fine Rows property where much of the medieval structure is retained. The thin metal railings protect a well, which is the entrance from Watergate Street below.

Passage leading to St Peter's churchyard
This may look to be at ground level, but isn't. It leads off the Rows at first floor level on Watergate. Out tour guide reckoned this alignment may date back to the Roman military headquarters which would have been immediately to the right.
