Footpath gate off drive to Pandy House
The public footpath, part of the Rhymney River Circular Walk, crosses the drive and then veers to the right eventually following the hedgerow.

The Thames-Taff Railtour at Machen Quarry
The railtour started from Paddington and ran to south Wales to traverse two usually freight-only branches - Machen Quarry and Cwmbargoed. Here the tour passes under the loader at Machen, headed by locomotive 66188.

SE edge of Machen
Alongside a bend on the A468, a sign (above a speed camera sign) marks the boundary of the village of Machen. Another sign a few metres in front of it marks the boundary of Caerphilly County Borough.
