Grey day in the valleys
Coal empties climb from Ystrad Mynach towards Penalta Mine. It's a typical grey day and soon the rain will arrive. This was a short branch line to serve the mine. You will note the line has newish concrete railway sleepers and looks in good condition. I wonder if the tracks are still on site as it's a long time since any trains went up here and over twenty years since this photo was taken.
