Tenovus was founded in 1943 by ten businessmen, the original ten-of-us.
Initially, the charity funded a wide range of projects.
Since the 1960s, its focus has been on cancer.

Combined public library and Baptist chapel, Bargoed
Viewed from Capel Street. This is the Hanbury Road entrance to Bargoed's new public library which opened in October 2011. There is another entrance, from the new car park on the far side. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4804394
The congregation of the chapel use the lower floor of the building where a worshipping area has been retained. The inscriptions on the building are HANBURY ROAD BAPTIST CHAPEL and 1906.
