This used to be the main A473 road , but the village has now been by-passed to the rear of the houses pictured. The Pontypridd to Llantrisant railway line used to run here and the site of the railway station is near the yellow building on the left.

Cross Inn station (remains),1990
View SW, towards Llantrisant: ex-Taff Vale Railway, Pontypridd - Llantrisant branch. The station and line were closed to passengers 31/3/52, goods 9/5/60. By 1990 it was taken over for Car Repairs.
