Former Smyrna chapel, Aberfan
Located on the east side of Aberfan Road, Smyrna Welsh Baptist chapel was built in 1877 and rebuilt in 1901. The recent conversion of the derelict building to residential use has retained the external appearance of the facade, though the extension on the right was not part of the church.

A former railway embankment, Aberfan
Viewed from near the right side http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3343015 of a hairpin bend in Station Hill. The stone wall supports the embankment which formerly carried railway lines about 100 metres north of Aberfan railway station, which closed in 1951.
