Canal bank near Abercynon
The path is the remains of the towpath of the Glamorganshire Canal, the canal itself being on the right of the path as viewed.

Glamorganshire Canal at Cefn Glas
This is the towpath for the canal which was in the dip to the left of the towpath. There was a coal mine beneath the canal which was responsible for the severe subsidence clearly visible in the photo. The buildings are part of Cefn Glas Farm.
