Seabank Hotel Porthcawl
Viewed across the Esplanade. The Coflein website states that the Seabank Hotel is on the site of a house of the same name built in 1867 by George Dement. The building was formerly a residential college for boys. Originally the building was an Italianate 2-storey structure with a tower. After refurbishment in the 1930s and 1940s, it became a large shiplike structure with 3 storeys and attics, with curved walls and a red-tiled gambrel roof.

The Mermaid sculpture Porthcawl
Located at the edge of The Esplanade, The Mermaid was designed to commemorate the town's seafaring history. The stone sculpture by Peter Nicholas was commissioned in 1993.
