This is the West Quay of the harbour. On the far wall can be seen the former entrance to the Inner Harbour, which was filled in in 1906.

Porthcawl Harbour
Now a marina for pleasure craft, the harbour is a reminder that in the 18th century Porthcawl was developed as a coal exporting port. It never really flourished, however, unable to compete with the far superior facilities at Cardiff and Barry. Porthcawl's future was as a seaside resort and the coal trade ceased in 1907.
