South Cornelly (north end)
Looking (roughly) north west along the northern half of the village's main thoroughfare, Porthcawl Road. The traffic on the road seems fairly light thanks to the existence of a by-pass to the west of the village.

Plaque marking the opening of the South Cornelly bypass
The plaque is attached to a rock situated just to the east of a road bridge over the bypass - as seen in Image According to the plaque, the bypass was opened on 19 December 1989 (though this, perhaps, may only be the date when it was ‘officially’ opened rather than first used).
