Ars Gratia Artis?
This bold artistic statement of a building is in East Bay Close Cardiff. When I took the picture I hadn't a clue what function it served. However the work by John Gingell is entitled "Power Box, Blue Flash and Mesh Chips". View NE, near Newtown Goods and Newtown East Junction, with the ex-GW main line behind, eastward of Cardiff General. This is a general scene of an area of sidings and Docks that has since been radically redeveloped. The train is heading southward towards Stonefield Junction and Roath Dock. The locomotive is ex-Rhymney Railway class S1 0-6-0T No. 90 (No. 604 until 1947), built 6/20 as Rhymney No. 32, withdrawn 6/54.
