Helicopter in a field, Heol Hir, Thornhill, Cardiff
As it went past me, I didn't immediately realise that a low-flying helicopter was preparing to land in a field nearby, on the corner of Heol Hir and Capel Gwilym Road. I waited several minutes for its blades to stop rotating before taking the photo. Its identification letters are G-PLAL, a twin-engine Eurocopter built in Germany in 2005.

From behind the camera, Heol Hir has crossed the M4 motorway and now heads for the junction with Capel Gwilym Road on the left (Thornhill 1 mile) and Cherry Orchard Road on the right (Cefn Onn Park ½ mile, Lisvane 1 mile). Heol Hir resumes its northerly course from Cherry Orchard Road, about 150 metres east of here (beyond the right edge of the photo).
