One of the two signs at the new entrance to the cemetery and crematorium, Thornhill, Cardiff
Though the layers of slate give an attractive appearance, one can't help wondering about the practicality of the design. The inward sloping layers must surely tend to collect water, which, when it freezes, will force them apart.

The oval plaque is inscribed with a couplet from Dylan Thomas's poem, "And death shall have no dominion":
"Though lovers be lost love shall not;
And death shall have no dominion."
The plaque on the other side of the gateway has the same couplet in Welsh.
