Caerphilly Rd improvements, Cardiff
The pavements on each side are now for cyclists as well as pedestrians. However, as can be seen by the signs, the cycle-way is suspended for about 7 or 8 yards each side of bus-stops. It will be interesting to see how many cyclists will take the trouble to dismount, push their cycles about 15 yards, then get on again, each time they come to a bus-stop!

Removal of pointless posts, Caerphilly Rd, Cardiff
The posts, which had been erected a few days earlier, have been cut down and are lying against the garden walls, the resulting holes guarded by cones.

Mystery posts, Caerphilly Rd, Cardiff
For months, improvement work has been going on in Caerphilly Rd. The latest element is the installation of a large number of posts with, so far, nothing on them. Here, there are no fewer than eight at the junction with Pedair Erw Road, five on the south side, three on the north.
Mystery solved. Four now carry No Loading signs, two announce the start or end (depending on what direction they are approached from) of the cycle way on the pavement, and two announce the new bus and cycle lane in the road.

Pointless posts, Caerphilly Rd, Cardiff
As part of the Caerphilly Rd improvements a row of 8 posts at about 20 pace intervals was erected close to the kerb. According to a workman, they were intended to carry limited waiting signs. A few days later they were all cut down. Perhaps someone had noticed there were already such signs, less obtrusively positioned against the garden walls!
