The view north from Highfield Road railway bridge. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2028993 Almost invisible in bright sunshine about 400 metres ahead is a junction - Heath Low Level station to the left and Heath High Level station to the right.

Engineer's train at Heath Junction
DB class 66 locomotive No. 66030 - with classmate No. 66172 on the other end - waits at Heath Junction with a ballast train for the recently relaid and lowered track beneath Heath Halt Road bridge on the Coryton branch, which diverges left from the Rhymney line in the middle distance. This view, north from Highfield Road bridge, has changed immeasurably recently with the installation of the overhead wires and masts.
