Melingriffith water pump
This scheduled monument is a water wheel driven water pump that used the waste stream from the former Melingriffith steel works to pump water back into the Glamorgan Canal. It has been completely rebuilt but I am not a fan of the modern machine cut wood.

Melingriffith waterwheel powered pump
This had been very derelict and required a total rebuild. I don't much like the machine cut wood though.

The footpath runs alongside the railway line crossing the Taff between Llandaff North and Radyr. Recent floods following Storm Dennis have damaged a path (see orange barrier) and deposited river litter high in the branches on either side of the river. See also Image

Taff Trail/NCN 8 route between Llandaff and Forest Farm
This section runs between the river and the Melingriffith housing estate. It can get quite busy at popular times as it is used by walkers, cyclists, and dog owners!

Damaged footpath
Storm Dennis caused severe flooding and damage such as this, to a footpath alongside the Taff at Radyr. The railway bridge caused water to back up which contributed to the scouring of the path. See also Image
