A line of modern buses at Cardiff Bus' Open day
This photo shows a line up of ten modern buses in different liveries with visitors to the Open Day admiring them. A line of preserved buses at Cardiff Bus' Open Day
This photo shows a line-up of preserved Cardiff buses with the depot to the far left. The vehicles from left to right are: a) 258 (G258 HUH) a 1990 Leyland Lynx with an integral Leyland body seating 49 b) 143 (N143 PTG) a 1996 Optare Metrorider midibus seating 31. Withdrawn from service in 2008. c) 408 (408 DBO) a 1963 AEC Regent V with an East Lancashire Coachbuilders body seating 63 (35 on upper deck and 28 on lower deck). It is in the original City of Cardiff Transport livery of crimson and cream. Withdrawn from service in 1979. d) 377 (Y377 GAX) a 2001 Dennis Dart SLF with a Plaxton Pointer body seating 41. Withdrawn from service in 2019. e) 360 (WTG 360T) a 1979 Bristol VRT with an Alexander body seating 75 (44 on upper deck and 31 on lower deck) and a detachable roof for it to work on city tours during the summer months. Withdrawn from service in 1999. f) 434 (ABO 434B) a 1964 Guy Arab V with a Neepsend body seating 65 (37 on upper deck and 28 on lower deck). It was converted to open top in 1974 to operate on city tours. Withdrawn from service in 1982. g) 512 (MBO 512F) a 1968 AEC Swift with an Alexander body seating 47 in the crimson and cream livery. Withdrawn from service in 1975. h) 407 (NDW 407X) a 1982 Volvo-Ailsa with Northern Counties body 74 (39 on the upper deck and 35 on the lower deck). It is in the orange and white livery introduced by Cardiff City Transport in the early 1970s. Withdrawn from service in 2007.

Ninian Park
Home of Cardiff City FC. The floodlights tower above the old grandstand which carries advertising on its roof. The club is currently [2007] negotiating to move soon to a new stadium in the same vicinity. View taken from Ninian Park Station.

Cardiff's Coat of Arms on an AEC Swift bus
This photo shows the coat of arms on the side of AEC Swift 512 (MBO 512F) which entered service with City of Cardiff Transport in 1968 but was sold to another bus operator in 1975. The coat of arms is explained at https://www.heraldry-wiki.com/heraldrywiki/wiki/Cardiff. They are still used by Cardiff City Council but no longer appear on the side of Cardiff's buses.

An articulated bus at Cardiff Bus' Open Day
This preserved articulated bus is 619 (CN06 GDY) a Scania OmniCity CN94 UA with 53 seats and up to 80 people standing. It was one of nineteen such vehicles that entered service with Cardiff Bus in 2006, but all have now been withdrawn. The vehicle to the right of the photo is 258 (G258 HUH) a preserved Leyland Lynx with 49 seats that entered service in 1990 and withdrawn in 2007, having been on driver training duties from 2003.

A driver training bus at Cardiff Bus' Open Day
This photo shows 773 (WX57 TLV) a 2007 Scania K230 UB with Wrightbus Solar bodywork seating 40 but now used as a driver training vehicle. The destination screen says "... we're training new drivers to be the best on the road". Other driver training vehicles in the Cardiff Bus fleet are 761/2 (CN58 FFZ/Y) which are Scania N230 UB single-deckers.

It was being used at the Cardiff Bus open day with children photographed in front of it and their first names shown in the destination board.
