The Park Place side of the theatre on the corner of Greyfriars Road.
The Edwardian (1906) building was Grade II listed in 1975.

New Theatre, Cardiff
On the corner of Greyfriars Road and Park Place. The first public performance here was on December 10th 1906 when William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night was performed by the company of Herbert Beerbohm Tree, followed by the New Theatre's first pantomime, Red Riding Hood. Theatre in Cardiff dates back to 1825 when the location was somewhat less grand - a loft over a stable.

Lights, Camera, Action
The New Theatre, illuminated, in central Cardiff. It lies just north of the main shopping area and was built in 1906. Today, it is the city's oldest surviving theatre.
