Oxfam Boutique and entrance to Morgan Arcade, Cardiff
The Oxfam Boutique opened here (on the right) at 34 St Mary Street in 2009. In its first year it raised over £100,000 for Oxfam's work combating poverty in the UK and abroad, by selling the generous donations from the public of designer clothing, vintage handbags, shoes and accessories.
On the left of the boutique is the St Mary Street entrance to Morgan Arcade, which was built 1896-1898. The other end of the arcade connects with The Hayes.

Viewed across Westgate Street in the city centre. The blue plaque on the left
records that it was in this hotel than Captain Robert Falcon Scott
and the men of his British Antarctic Expedition attended their last
public banquet before departing on June 15th 1910 from Cardiff
aboard Terra Nova, beginning their journey to the South Pole.
The Captain Scott Room is preserved in their memory.

St.David's House. Wood Street, Cardiff
Looking along Wood Street from its junction with Havelock Street. Note the 'bendybus' on 'capital city red route' 17 to Ely; this type of vehicle seems to have settled in happily in several British cities without the enormous fuss caused in London.
