D Gurteen, Chauntry Mills, Haverhill
Textile manufacturers. The mill is home to a stationary steam engine built in 1879 by Hick, Hargreaves of Bolton. A single cylinder, non-condensing Corliss engine. Stopped 1961 but was steamable until relatively recent. Admission strictly by appointment.
