Cowlinge: noisy sheep at Erratts Farm
Park in a gateway to take a picture of a church (behind the camera) and the chances are the sheep on the other side of the field will come to talk to you. Part of Pond Plantation forms the backdrop. This was an especially mild and sunny morning in late November.

Dedicated to St Margaret of Antioch, this fine church is rated in England's top 1000. The village is pronounced 'coo-linj'.

Cowlinge St Margaret?s church
This is an interesting little church, but it has suffered at the hands of restorers and has recently undergone extensive repairs to the roof of the south aisle. The plain brick-built tower is 18th c. and mars the general appearance of the church in my opinion. When this image was taken a new roof was being put over the south aisle.
