Newmarket: Telephone exchange and postal delivery office
This 1950s building in The Avenue dates from the time when the General Post Office was responsible for both postal and telecommunications services, and built this structure to house its requirements in Newmarket. With the privatization of the telecommunications business in 1984, the right side of the building is now the BT telephone exchange while the left side is the Royal Mail's delivery office.
