Kentford village sign
I can only think the reason for a horse on the village sign is that it is in close proximity to Newmarket and there are two studs in the parish. The wavy lines the horse is standing on symbolises the River Kennett which divides Suffolk from Cambridgeshire. Edward, Prince of Wales was a regular visitor to the estates for regular shoots at the end of the 19th century when he was visiting his mistress, Lilly Langtree, whom he had installed at nearby Regal Lodge. The reverse of this sign is Kennett https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6769306
