Horse About Newmarket - Atlanic
Horse about Newmarket is a community art event, promoted by Newmarket Town Council to celebrate the town’s unique position as the headquarters of British Horse Racing. The horses, which have been painted by artists using the theme of Guineas winners this horse is called Atlanic by Jacquie Jones. At the end of there public display the horses will be auctioned, and the profits will be shared between two local charities, Racing Welfare and St. Nicholas Hospice. Newmarket War Memorial
Newmarket War Memorial stands at the top of the High Street in the Memorial Gardens.
It bears the names of 216 men lost in WW1; of 79 lost in WW2 https://media.geograph.org.uk/files/fe9fc289c3ff0af142b6d3bead98a923/Newmarket_War_Memorial.pdf as well as the names of 10 Civilians who were killed when the town was bombed.
