The headstone of Gunner John Evlyn Cockerton 31 October 1918
The headstone is in Kentford churchyard but because he came from Walthamstow his name is not included on the war memorial despite him living here since at least 1911. He was in the Royal Garrison Artillery 152nd Heavy Battery.

Kentford War Memorials in Kentford church
The marble WW1 memorial bears seven names. The smaller WW2 Memorial bears only two. See also the headstone in the churchyard of Gunner Cockerton. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4913869 Anyone wanting to visit the church would be advised to first collect the key from The Cock public house especially if walking is not easy. Details of all those names can be seen here: http://media.geograph.org.uk/files/fe9fc289c3ff0af142b6d3bead98a923/KENTFORD_War_Memorial.pdf
