House in The Row, Sutton-in-the-Isle
On the high ground of the Isle of Ely (slightly higher than Ely itself) the village enjoys commanding views over the area.
It used to be that the better-off lived at the top of the hill and the poor houses, or hovels, were at the bottom. Few hovels remain, and I understand this was one of them.
