Memorial to Tony the dog
The Image above this dogs' drinking trough, now on a traffic island amid the bustling junction of Mitcham's Corner, reads as follows:
"1934 - In memory of Tony, a dog who gave him friendship and happiness during his Cambridge years. This trough is erected by His Royal Highness Prince Chula of Siam."
Prince Chula came to Cambridge from the country that is now known as Thailand to read History at Trinity College. After graduating, he settled in Cornwall where he later erected similar memorials to two more of his beloved pets, Hercules and Joan - see Image
