To continue the theme of Image The oil price crashed soon after the last photo, seemingly after a sudden realisation by the world that more fossil fuel reserves are known than can sensibly be burnt so it makes no sense for OPEC to hold back on production.

A repeat of Image from the previous day, but petrol prices have gone up three pence per litre overnight to 132.9p/litre. Diesel has gone up two pence to 135.9/litre. Significant fighting in Iraq was probably the excuse for the rapid hike.

Compare with Image Planning permission has been given to knock down the former pub and replace it with student accommodation (including the car park at the back). A further application has been made to include the building to the right (a closed guesthouse) in the plans.

A follow-up to Image as petrol prices have dropped to 119.9p/litre, from 132.9. Oil prices are falling rapidly as no producers are prepared to reduce supply. It could be a realisation that there has to be a time, eventually, when we stop burning the stuff. Reducing production therefore risks leaving it in the ground worthless so instead it's a race now to sell it while there is still demand.
