Track near Grantchester
Just beyond the village of Grantchester, on the way to Coton, a track leads between a house and a field. There are some fine old trees along here in the otherwise rather bare and treeless landscape. Newnham on the outskirts of Cambridge can be seen in the distance.

This farm track is also a permissive path from Grantchester to Newnham. I imagine the tree may have been a victim of Storm Francis, a day or so before.

Cranes in the distance
A long telephoto view from the permissive bridleway north of Grantchester. The cranes are on the Astra Zeneca and new Papworth Hospital sites near Addenbrooke's Hospital, whose chimney is prominent on the left, getting on for two miles away.
