Architect pub
Everards' redesign of Image opposite the Shire Hall, and popular with County Council staff (not just architects) at lunchtime, opened in the autumn of 2014. Battleship grey paint has been extensively applied inside and out. The pub, with its mock Tudor framework, was originally built in 1937.

A minimalist sign for Image; the architect's dividers cunningly represent the initial letter A. You have to look on the front of the pub to see the name (which is used without the definite article). Formerly this pub was the County Arms, and had a rather more elaborate sign - see Image

Caf? Naz and the County Arms at night
Café Naz, also calling itself the Cambridge Curry Centre, is painted black but brilliantly-lit at night. The County Arms is rather more subdued. The banner covering (but not obscuring) the word "Cambridge" warns that Café Naz will be closed for most of February for refurbishment.

Mee and I
The premises on Castle Street long occupied by the Cambridge Curry Centre and Café Naz are now home to this establishment which describes itself as an "Asian tapas & noodle bar" - a rather extreme example of fusion, since tapas are a peculiarly Spanish institution.
